Opinion on bases in Dayz

I noticed that a lot of people in Dayz community dont like the idea of bases and building overall, and i wanted to know how popular this idea really is and why? Personally i think that basebuilding is incredibly good addition to the game as its logical that you need some shelter to store your goodies and survive longer.
