Is precision at range & up close tracking possible?

I haven't found the sweet spot on a controller for the precise aim down range but able to track quickly when in close quarters. lately after 2k hours on a controller I plugged in a mouse and keyboard and it's been different although I still haven't quite found that sweet spot either I prefer higher DPI for inventory management and looking around and tracking close range but still want something slower and precise for range. is this all just a skill issue? do I need to commit to low settings a...
