DAYZ UPDATE 1.29 DELIVERS PERFORMANCE BOOST, TERRAIN UPGRADES & NEW GEAR Major technical improvements, firearm sound overhaul, and fresh content for DayZ Frostline expansion. Prague, April 8th, 2026 – Bohemia Interactive today released DayZ Update 1.29 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. While originally planned as a smaller content update, its scope expanded significantly during the extended experimental phase, resulting in major technical improvements, firearm sound overhaul, and fresh content for DayZ Frostline expansion. Watch the update trailer here. Among other changes, Update 1.29 focuses heavily on server stability and performance. Thanks to extensive testing and targeted optimizations, high-population servers saw higher FPS count and increased server performance by up to 400% in internal stress tests. Survivors can expect smoother gameplay, fewer performance warnings, and reduced lag across the board. Key Features & Additions in Update 1.29 Terrain Upgrades A major visual upgrade arrives with terrain blending improvements that tweak the transitions between surface types, which is an especially noticeable improvement on Sakhal and a key technology needed for the upcoming Nasdara map. New DayZ Frostline Gear The update introduces the largest set of winter-themed cosmetics to date, including new coats, boots, sweaters, and the new Long-Haul Backpack.
